Cannabis is listed on Schedule I, alongside substances like heroin, LSD, ecstasy, and methaqualone.
Meanwhile, Schedule IV includes drugs like Xanax, Ambien, and Valium, which are classified as having a lower potential for abuse and dependence.
So when you look at the controlled-substance schedule, it can leave you asking:
Does the current classification of cannabis actually make sense?
